The role of vocational training & education for the reactivation of world Tourism
Recognising the importance of vocational training in our Travel and Tourism industry, Skål International organised last 1 October 2020 a new webinar in the Chapter Recovery Moment series, in collaboration with the World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training (AMFORHT): 'The role of vocational training & education for the reactivation of world Tourism'.
The Tourism industry is being deeply affected by the pandemic and will have to adapt to this new normality, which means creating, developing and testing new tools, methods, standards and procedures, to bring confidence to customers and also to the professionals working in the industry.
In this new scenario, professional training will also have to be adapted, which is why in this session we will talk about the role that professional training and education will have in the necessary and imminent reactivation of world Tourism.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Philippe Francois
President of AMFORHT since 2010, Philippe graduated from Hotel School in 1975.
Philippe started his career as a waiter in a restaurant – some years later he was general manager of a Novotel Hotel in England. In 1987 he created and ran for 7 years the now renowned Ecole de Savignac (MBA in Hospitality Management).
In 1991 he was head of the Hospitality and Tourism department of the Chamber of Commerce of Bordeau. Since 1994, as international expert and consultant, he runs the Francois Tourisme Consultants Group, leading consultancy companies in Hospitality and Tourism.
Philippe is also the President of Ecorismo, the internationals events in environment in Tourism and Hospitality as well as Biorismo, the biodiversity solutions for Hospitality business.
Also graduated from the University of Bordeaux (MBA in Tourism planning and design) he lectures and advices numerous universities in the world.
Philippe and his team published 19 professional books and guides in Tourism management since 2000 and contributed to the creation of more than twenty Hotel Schools and University programs in France and around the world.
Martine Ferry
Martine is Director of post-graduate Master's programs at Institut Paul Bocuse, France, at the Head of the MSc in International Hospitality Management in partnership with EM Lyon Business School, travelling the world with students.
Also an AMFORHT Board Member and Ambassador of the NGO since 2011.
Deeply committed to her passion for her professional activities, she is regularly involved in consulting activities and participated in various think tanks and research projects.
Al Khalloufi Toumert
Director of Education International Bachelor Program at China Foreigner Affairs University (China).
Creator of the The Business School is Advancing Further Education, US based Corporation Washington State, focused on e-learning, this pre-master certificate leads to a BBA award, in China.
Al is graduated from European, American and Asian institutions, with Master, Postgraduate Diploma and Bachelor Degree in Business Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Education Leadership plus various certifications in International Affairs and Management studies.
Moroccan born in 1974, French educated, he lived in a political surroundings, experienced life in Africa with Arabian and Berber heritage, moved to Europe for higher education, before settling in Asia.
Denis Chistyakov
PhD in Sociology Deputy Director for Science Hotel Business and Tourism Institute Rudn (Russia).
Since March 2019, Denis is Deputy Director for Science of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (Rudn University) - Hotel Business and Tourism Institute.
He is coordinating, designing, and conducting academic research at the Institute, as well as academic collaboration with universities of Russia, Italy, Finland, France, USA, Kazakhstan, and Lebanon, and coordinating international cooperation with professional organizations and universities.
Before, he was Head of Communications of the JSC Stream Television Company. He is PhD in Sociology and graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO).
